Benefits of Gender Diversity in Politics and Leadership
This course is developed by Jahjaga Foundation in the project "Benefits of Gender Diversity" financed by Dutch Embassy in Kosovo.
The course takes roughly 50 minutes to complete, although it does not need to be done in one session or sequentially.

Introduction
Women representation in politics is a guaranteed right in Kosovo and in the world. The situation was different only 100 years back.
From suffrage until the increase of women representation in politics and leadership as a result of their empowerment, has brought great benefits for democratic countries, societies and political parties. The main goal of this course is to ensure general knowledge on benefits of gender diversity in politics and leadership. In a special way, this course brings information on the historical path of women in politics, the importance and social benefits of their participation in political parties and politics, as well as their main obstacles that hinder their political involvement in Kosovo and the world, by introducing concrete measures to surpass these obstacles.
By applying a gender perspective, this course aim to answer questions such as: why were women historically excluded from politics, why politic was considered a field dominated by men, what are the benefits of the political parties, how do countries and society benefit from equal inclusion of women in politics, how do affirmative measure ensure the political representation of women and what is the role of political parties on ensuring the women political involvement.
