This six-module course focuses on aspects related to the efficient exercise of the work of members of municipal assemblies in order to supervise and control the work of the municipal government in order to increase the performance of the municipality in addressing issues of public interest. More specifically, the modules of this course include aspects of exercising the competencies of monitoring (controlling and supervision) the performance of municipalities by members of municipal assemblies in the field of (1) development of local democracy (2) financial activities, budget and expenditures of the municipality (3) procurement activities, (4) quality of public services, (5) transparency of the municipality, and (6) equality in employment, social and family services.
